Frequently Asked Questions
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. Merging runs entirely in your browser with pdf-lib. Your files never leave your device — no server upload, no tracking.
Is there a file size or page limit?
No fixed limit — it's bounded by your device's memory. Most phones and laptops handle hundreds of pages easily. Very large merges (>500MB combined) may be slow on mobile.
Does this support password-protected PDFs?
Partially. We can read the structure of most protected PDFs for merging, but fully encrypted files may fail. Use the Unlock PDF tool first if needed.
Will the merged PDF keep bookmarks and form fields?
Page content, annotations, and form fields are preserved. Bookmarks and some interactive features from the source PDFs may be stripped.
How do I change the page order?
Drag rows up or down in the file list, or use the arrow buttons next to each file. The order in the list matches the final PDF.
